Kathmandu, 26 December : Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa on Tuesday said that the government attorneys should carry out their jobs in a flawless manner while investigating and prosecuting the crimes.
Addressing the concluding session of the second national conference of the government attorney organized by the Office of the Attorney General in the capital city, the Home Minister said that the government attorney are supposed to work faultlessly since they have to fight for the defence of the cases on behalf of the government.
Home Minister Thapa said, “The government attorneys should meet the responsibility given by the constitution and laws. They should work to make evidences more scientific and objective because they have to defend the cases on behalf of the government.”
Stressing the need to modernize the criminal justice administration to maintain law and order in the country, Minister Thapa added that the government attorneys should play special role in implementing laws including the civil and criminal codes.
He also cautioned that the government attorneys have key responsibility to bring the perpetrators to book, but for this to happen, they should investigate the cases more efficiently.
